The service design manual provides guidelines for the design and the development of services and service management processes. The volume includes design principles and methods for the realization of strategic goals in service portfolios and service assets. However, the scope of service design is not limited to new services. It also contains advice on necessary changes and improvements to enhance or maintain the added value of the services across the individual lifecycles, ensure their continuity, achieve the service levels and fulfill the compliance requirements. Service design provides the organization with valuable advice on the question how the design capabilities for service management can be developed and acquired.
